Admission to Industrial Training Institutes in India is directed by the Directorate of Employment and Training of the Ministry of Labour of the Government of India. ITI admission process is based on merit in the qualifying examination prescribed for a particular trade and as per the recommendations of the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT). In case, the public examination marks are not considered, the board conducts a written examination that serves as minimum qualification for the trade.
What is the eligibility criteria for ITI admission ?
Age: Individuals aged between 14 and 60 years of age as on date of start of admission session are eligible to apply for admission to ITI and ITC's in India
Educational qualification: The academic qualification for trades vary from class VIII pass to class XII pass depending upon selected trade.
Age Relaxation: -
45 years in case of ex-servicemen
45 years in case of war widows
Widows/separated women would be allowed to join various training programmers under C.T.S. up to the age of 35 years The upper age limit for physically handicapped candidates is relaxed by 10 years and kept as 35 years as on the date of admission.
Application Procedure for ITI admission ?
The prospectus and Performa for ITI admission can be obtained from respective state directorates responsible for Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) and principal of concerned Industrial Training Institutes and centers.
Selection Procedure for ITI admission :
As per the recommendation of NCVT, Admission to ITI is to be made purely on merit based on the marks secured by the candidate in the public examination as per the minimum qualification prescribed for the individual trade. Whereever, there is no public examination at the minimum qualification level, admission may be made on the marks obtained by the candidate in the written examination conducted by the State Directorate for the purpose of admission.
Reservation of Seats:
1. Persons belonging to SC/ST category in proportion to their population in each state or territory.
2. 25 % seats reserved for women candidates.
3. For boys and girls sponsored by recognized orphans.
4. 3% seats reserved under Craftsmen Training Scheme and Apprenticeship Training Scheme for candidates who are handicapped but have aptitude and are fit to undergo training.
5. Directorate General of Resettlement have confirmed the inclusion of Ex-servicemen category in the revised priorities for reservation up to 10 seats in each of the ITIs.
As such the revised priorities for admission of wards of Defense personnel etc. would henceforth be as under:
•Children of deceased/disabled ex- servicemen, including those killed/disabled during peace time.
Children of ex-servicemen.
•Children of serving jawans.
•Children of serving officers.
Start of Session: Session in ITI s starts from 1st February and 1st August every year.

Rules of General Discipline, Conduct and Behavior Character building is the main aim of education and the College lays great emphasis on good character and decent behavior from every student.
All students should be properly and neatly dressed with prescribed college uniform on all working days except Wednesdays. On Wednesdays color dress other than T-Shits & Jeans can be used. Those who intentionally violate this rule shall not be permitted to attend the classes and will have to leave the campus.
The behavior of the students, both within and outside the college campus should be decent and befitting to a professional institution.
Any student, who is persistently insubordinate to teachers or staff.
who is habitually irregular in attendance or inattentive to his work in the classes.
who is repeatedly or willfully mischievous or obscene in words or act.
who is guilty of fraud or malpractices at examinations.
who indulges in movements which may lead to communal ill feelings or enmity will be liable to be punished with fine, suspension, loss of attendance, refusal of promotion to higher semester or even expulsion from the College as per the decision of the College council.
Students should attend classes, submit assignments, records, home work etc. in time. Students coming late shall enter the class only with the permission of the teacher. Late comers will not get attendance for the period. No student shall leave the class before the class is dispersed by the teacher handling the class.
Students shall move silently when proceeding from one class to another so as not to disturb other classes.
Permission from the Senior advisor is to be obtained by the student while leaving the college campus before the end of the classes.
Students who happen to have no classes are not allowed to loiter in the veranda during class hours, instead they should remain quite inside the class rooms or in the library.
Students are prohibited from organizing or attending meeting in the College, distributing notices or collecting money for any purpose without the permission of the Principal.
Instant agitation arising in the campus disturbing the regular class work in the college are banned. Disturbing any class work in the campus come under the purview of Ragging and those involved in such activities are liable for severe punishment.
The college properties should be handled with maximum care and everything possible should be done to preserve the cleanliness and tidiness of the building, furniture, library books and the premises.
Based on the directions of the Government of Kerala, use of mobile phone and similar electronic gadgets include the college campus is restricted. Mobile phones are to be switched off, when in the campus. However, it can be used during lunch intervals. Mobile phone with camera is strictly prohibited. If any one is found violating this rule , the phone will be confiscated and the same will be returned only after the completion of the course.
Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in the college according to the directions of the Government of India. Penalty measures to those found guilty of ragging will begin with immediate expulsion from the College followed by criminal procedures as per the law.
The class tests, series tests and model examinations are to be attended by all the students with sufficient preparation. Re-tests will not be conducted normally.
Students must work quietly while in the library or spend time in such a way as not to cause any interference with the work of others.
Students must park their vehicles only in the places specified for the same, and should not use the vehicles inside the campus beyond the parking areas.
Under any circumstances, no student or staff or outsider s permitted to meet a faculty member while he is engaging classes or on invigilation work.
Students are expected to see the College Notice Board everyday.
Students should always possess their identity cards with them and display the same using the card holder and tag provided.
Candidates must read the ITI 2021 Eligibility Criteria before filling the application form:
- Nationality: Candidates must be a citizen of India.
- Domicile: Candidates must have a domicile certificate of state.
- Qualification: Candidates must have qualified 8th, 10thand 12th classes from any recognized board/ school or equivalent.
- Subjects: Candidates must pass their qualifying examination with Mathematics and Science subjects.
- Marks Criteria: Candidates must pass with a minimum of 35% marks in their qualifying examination.
